FREEFORM / ME SHAPE
This release features Freeform aka Simon Pyke constructing rhythms from 2 years of recording not so
ambient noises and interweaving them with mel-odious sounds. Simon has supported Autechre on their
recent UK tour and participated in Warp Records nights around Europe and America. Popsters U2 have
sampled 'Fane' from a Skam release for their No1 single 'Discotheque'. Since his first release in 1995, the
Free e.p. for Skam, he has recorded for Warp Records, Law and Auder and others. You can also hear him
on our recent Chinese Whispers album (see below).

VARIOUS / CHINESE WHISPERS
This is the ultimate in concept compilations, entitled CHINESE WHISPERS, where even the participants
themselves didn't know who was involved. Taking more than a year to complete, the CD is based on initial
samples by Stereolab with remixes of a remix of a remix by Sons of Silence, Ultramarine, Mike Paradinas,
Freeform, Slang, Bedouin Ascent, Subtropic, T-Power and Stereolab. Styles range from electro, drill n' bass,
mad techno, big-beats, to easy listening dub and abstract disco.

The Sprawl's first vinyl offering comes in form of this collaboration by Robin Rimbaud and Douglas Benford.
Having worked together on 'Behind You' they decided to take things a step further and apart from a picture
of a definitely mad cow the EP also features 4 mad pieces of aural delight . An extract was featured on
THE WIRE magazine cover-mounted CD, "The Wire Tapper".

SI-{CUT}.DB / BEHIND YOU
This is the second album by Douglas Benford, aka SI-{CUT}.DB, the first being "Nuisance", one of The Wire's
albums of the year 1995. BEHIND YOU has been produced by Techno Pirate Scanner who described the
album as a "Squarepusher meets Black Dog" type thing. Files were e-mailed from Douglas' to Scanner's
studio where there were mixed down. Doug 's remixes, production credits and collaborations include Sarah
Cracknell (St Etienne), Momus, Fuji Maki, Add N TO (X), Andrew Weatherall and the odd Playstation
soundtrack. He regularly DJs around the globe. His full discography is on

Setting the agenda: The first release on the label is a compilation of exclusive tracks by many known and
unknown underground artists. The brief: provide a track which mutates the human voice into electronica.
All tracks are specially recorded for this project, ranging from progressive drum & bass to trip hop and
intelligent techno, featuring tracks by MRM, Scanner, BitTonic, Exact Life, Daniel Pemberton, V-Neck, Mr
Psyche (Paul Thomas, Kiss FM), Shenton Engine (Ann Shenton, Add N TO (X)), Immersion, Lovecut DB
