Inside I'm Sore CD

I'm Sore "Inside" CD (or "Inside" I'm Sore) - Kabuki Kore - 35 minutes of experimental sound and noise. I'm sore is the brainchild of ex-Pale Saint Ian Masters. It is produced by electrical saw and a "cheap fx box." Does the name I'm Sore come from "I'm saw"? I would think so, but only Ian knows for "saw." This very limited edition comes to us courtesy of the Kabuki Kore label and is presented in an attractive folded paper envelope (death to jewel cases and the boxes the come in), sealed with a sticker and a nice Japanese-text "obi" with a picture of Ian in traditional Korean ware. All twelve song titles are fever-inspired, things like "Ancient Desert Love Approaches," "60 Gallons of Sand Overture," "Two Cuddly Moons," and "Swimming in Booze." The first track is funky and grindy and repetitive - infectious - while the second is bloopy and tweeky and Dr. Who-esque. The third track "Cook The Robot" sounds like a robot talking and squeaking, there is a squeaky wave here indeed and some reverb echo, it all happens at once. "Two Cuddly Moons" features groaning ambient giants lurching in slow motion/low gravity like whales. "Footprints in the Invisible" features a cicada attack and some gurgling burbling (but no real action adventure). "Creation of Tiger Flowers" is action based whale sounds of squiggly call and response. The story continues in "Shangri-La Power Station" with more of the same. "Swimming In Booze" is an interesting track that makes the previous reverb conversations deeper and scarier - boozier too! "Study The Claw Hole Reprise" is blurty bloops bouncing on microscopic trampolines as warning sounds alert the presence of incoming meteorites, while "A Night In A Giant Gown" is Eddie Van Halen tapping in a vacuum. "Found This Garden Once" is a change of pace with a full full sound of locusts attacking in waves as an air raid siren goes off and a child cries. "An Invisible Music" rounds off the disc with more mellow taps and echoes and a pleasant, sleepy wave of the hand... This music is recommended for fans of KK Null's electronic music, Tim Olive's experimental works, or Masonna's Space Machine project. I like this music, but I struggle to find an occasion to play it to friends. Ian is a kind soul who thanked me in the credits, as well as my wife and my 15 month old boy Zen, and a whole bunch of other people I know. We're glad we're supporting you, Ian.
