MAY 02 - 05 ¬ BEYOND THE MEDIA. FLORENCE. ITALY
D-Fuse were invited to this Architectural festival, held in Florence Italy, to discuss how Architecture has influenced their work, particularly in motion graphics. The talk held in the stunning Ospedale Degli Innocenti, also allowed D-Fuse to present two of their latest video pieces. Later they VJ'd at a club in the beautiful Tuscan hills.

Kooyanisqatsi

¬FULL LENGTH 14 REMIX ¬D-FUSE Vs KOOYANISQATSI
D-Fuse presented their own re-mixed version of the classic Koyaanisqatsi live. With music by Barcelona based electronica musician Fibla, live sax from Dan Faulkner and additional live percussion provided by Tim Harrison.The event managed successfully to combine the spirit of the original movie with the distinctive D-Fuse 'layered style' of presentation, reinforced by the use of multiple transparent screens. There are plans to repeat similar themed, pieces in other European venues. Look out for these in forthcoming Newsletters.

JUN 15 ¬ KID 606 ¬ SONAR FESTIVAL. BARCELONA. SPAIN.
D-Fuse made a return trip to the Sonar Festival, the world's prime showcase for Electronic music in which they provided a 'Fast-forward all the way' visual feast to accompany a typically blistering set from Californian Cut-Up artist, Kid 606. This time D-Fuse were playing in the more intimate setting of the main arts venue, which helped to intensify the raw feel of the event. The set was transmitted, live on the net.

JUN 17 ¬ VERUS ELECTRONICS MICRO-FESTIVAL. BARCELONA. SPAIN.
Barcelona based spa.RK label, hosted a night of chilled sounds and sublime visuals. D-Fuse providing visual imagery. In keeping with the timing of the event, taking place as it did at the tail -end of the Sonar Festival, D-Fuse, ke the pace slow, and mixed images which perfectly reflected the ambiance of the proceedings. D-Fuse performed two sets, along with VJs Sixis and Randomhead from Barcelona. Music on the night was provided by Fibla (Quatermass/spa.RK, Barcelona) amongst others.

Sciarrino

JUN 19 - 21 ¬ D-FUSE/SCANNER SCIARRINO CONCERT. BERLIN. GERMANY.
The ongoing collaboration between D-Fuse and modern classical musicians, Alter-Ego and Scanner continues. The venue, a renovated ex-brewery, was transformed by the addition of enormous twin screens, showing D-Fuse's visual interpretation of the music. There are future plans to continue with the collaboration, using other musical pieces.

JUL 05 - 07 ¬ THE BIG CHILL ENCHANTED GARDEN. LARMER TREE GARDENS. UK.
D-Fuse made their annual trip to the Big Chill. Helping to lift the spirits of the crowd, dispelling the bad weather. Now in its fifth year, the festival continues to supply its uniqueblend of visual and performing arts at the Larmer Tree Gardens. D-Fuse performed with Blu Mar Ten [of Erykah Badu remix fame] playing an extended set. Sunday saw a VJ setshowing the more reflective side of D-Fuse mixing their videos to the jazzy sounds of London's Co-Op Collective.

Light Turned Down

JUL 28 ¬ LIGHT TURNED DOWN/SPINNIQUE 35TH AUCKLAND INT. FILM FESTIVAL. NEW ZEALAND.
Founded in 1970, by 1998 the Festival had achieved an audience of 86,500. The year 2000 marked the Festival's return to the fabulously refurbished, and insanely beautiful, Civic Theatre. This year, two D-Fuse films were featured as part of the programme and were presented byRobin Rimbaud, aka Scanner. 'Light Turned Down' takes Scanner's sound and provides a mesmeric array of urban imagery, pulsing with light and colour. 'Spinnique', also features music by Scanner,in which ultra-cute panda bears are caught in spin cycles in this Manga influenced, progressive techno piece.

JUL/AUG ¬ FESTIVAL KULTURARENA. JENA. GERMANY.
AUGUST 20 ¬ FILMFEST DRESDEN. DRESDEN. GERMANY.
D-Fuse's video 'Squarepusher' was screened at the FestivalKulturarena in Jena. This was an open air summer festival for music, theatre and film. A compilation of these films was then shown at the 'Filmfest Dresden' on August 20th.

AUG 16-18 ¬ THE BIG CHILL FESTIVAL. EASTNOR CASTLE. HEREFORDSHIRE. UK.
D-Fuse paid its second visit to the festival, this time set in the fairy tale surroundings of Eastnor Castle.
Day 2 saw D-fuse play a visual set with the band, Royksopp on the main stage. This was then followed by a late-night performance in the mixed media tent, at which they showed a sneak preview of their 'Nonplace vs D-Fuse' DVD augmented by live percussion and featuring Dan Faulkner on sax.

SEP 06 - 08 ¬ SPLETIZIZERZ. ACADEMY OF MEDIA ARTS. COLOGNE. GERMANY.
'To process the mutualities and overlappings of music and image.' are the words of the organisers. This festival aims to create a 'complete field of audio visuality of image and music.'Artists invited from around the world performed several audiovisual sets in the TV studios of the academy.D-Fuse performied with SolarX from Russia and the results have been recorded on DVD throughout the festival.

Belgrade's film festival Mikrokino travels to the Ukraine's 5th Kiev international Video Art and Short Film Festival, 'Dreamcatcher'. Among the showcase included is D-Fuse's film 'Endeka'.

Shibuya

SEPT 14 ¬ VIDEOMINUTO FILM FESTIVAL. FIRENZE. ITALY.
D-Fuse's video 'Shibuya (in 3 parts)' with music by Fibla, has been edited to a one minute movie and was screened at the VideominutoPov, an international video festival at the Contemporary Art Center of Prato, Florence.

SEPT 15 ¬ RESONANCE FM. RADIO INTERVIEW. LONDON. UK
Resonance is a new arts and music station covering all manner of events and performances and features artists from both visual and sound media. D-Fuse took part in an informal chat on Richard Sanderson's Sunday show, discussing amongst other things our recent participation in the Spletizizerz in Cologne and some of our upcoming and future plans.

Tokyo

SEP 13-16 ¬D-FUSE_TOKYO. ONEDOTZERO + THINK ZONE. TOKYO. JAPAN.
As part of the British Council 'Trade Mission to Tokyo' D-Fuse travelled to Tokyo with UK creatives Onedotzero, State, Intro, Milk and Andy Martin among others. During the Onedotzero_Tokyo event held at the Tokyo International Forum, D-Fuse sat on panels and made presentations. Whilst on Friday the 13 coinciding with the onedotzero event D-Fuse , along with The Light Surgeons and Run Wrake Vj'd at the Think Zone, Roppongi. This interesting venue had 22 video projectors with 16 projecting on the floor!! The rest of the visit was spent promoting (via TV and magazine interviews) our forthcoming DVD releases - Nowondvd (D-Fuse Vs Nonplace) and the Gasbook 'D-Fuse retrospective'.

SEP 19 ¬ D-FUSE_TOKYO. EXPOSURE NIGHT. SECO BAR. TOKYO. JAPAN.
To Celebrate the launch of the new Exposure magazine. Vol 28, focusing on 'Motion Graphic Art'. D-Fuse performed at the Seco bar in Shibuya. Other video artists included Devil robots and Delaware from Japan.
